Latest KeyShot Studio Minimum System Requirements
The minimum system requirements for running the latest release KeyShot Studio
Table of Contents
Changes a glance:
-
The main difference from KeyShot Studio's 2026.2 requirements is that the minimum NVidia GPU driver version is bumped up to 576.52*.
-
The minimum MacOS version is bumped up to Sonoma 14. While Ventura 13 may still work, it is no longer officially supported.
-
For AMD GPUs, it remains 23.3.
-
Mac GPU requirements have been added.

Please note that there is a bug in the NVidia drivers after version 572.61 so the new requirement might not take effect on release.
The bug may cause lag end freezes when interacting with the Windows Explorer.
If affected by that, please update to the driver version 591.44 or newer

- minimum: 4GB RAM
- recommended: 16GB RAM and up
CPU
- Quad-core CPU1'
- Intel or AMD 64-bit processor with SSE4.1 or higher
GPU
- OpenGL 2.0 capable system23
- For the GPU Mode:
- Nvidia
- Maxwell architecture or higher
- Recommended architecture is Turing or newer
- Ideally at least 8GB of dedicated VRAM

Minimum driver version: 576.52 (Please update to 591.44 or newer if having performance issues or freezes)
- KeyShot Studio GPU mode supports memory scaling for setups with multiple GPUs connected with NVIDIA NVLink. For example, two NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000 GPUs will provide a combined 96 GB of GPU memory. When you have multiple GPUs connected with NVLink, you will see a difference in the available GPU Memory within the Heads Up Display in the Real-time view.
- Maxwell architecture or higher
- Nvidia
-
- AMD
- RDNA 3 architecture and newer
- Radeon RX 7600 or above
- Minimum driver version: 23.30
-
Multiple GPUs can be used to improve performance.
Be aware that memory sharing is not supported and the implementation does not support AMDs MGPU or CrossFire features.

For AI Shots:
-
KeyShot recommends all NVIDIA RTX GPUs that launched in the last three years and have at least 16GB of VRAM. Newer cards with more VRAM are preferable.
While running AI Shots on the CPU and with AMD (RDNA3 and newer, dedicated GPUs only) and Apple (ARM-based) GPUs is possible, NVIDIA GPUs currently offer by far the best performance. The amount of VRAM determines the maximum resolution of generated images.

Display Device
- 1080p/15.6” or higher
Network
- Internet connection (to activate product)
[1] KeyShot will utilize all available CPU cores. Therefore, more CPU cores/threads will produce faster rendering times.
[2] While KeyShot doesn’t require GPU for rendering, certain UI elements in KeyShot require a GPU with support for OpenGL 2.0 and up.
Summary for GPU Mode
In order to run KeyShot, a GPU is not required for rendering, but UI elements require an OpenGL 2.0 capable system.
For the GPU Mode, on Windows, an Nvidia GPU with the Maxwell architecture or higher, ideally Turing or newer is required as well as a driver version of at least 576.52. 591.44 or newer is recommended.
Please note that while it may technically run on weak cards, most scenes will not run on cards with less than 8GB of dedicated VRAM.
The GPU Mode for AMD GPUs and MacOS is experimental and in Beta.
For AMD GPUs, the RDNA 3 architecture and newer on cards like the Radeon RX 7600 or above is required with the minimum driver version 23.30.
We've discovered that AMD has stopped shipping ROCm 6 required for the HIP runtime 6 as of driver version 26.5.1.
We'll be looking into supporting HIP runtime version 7 for 2026.3.
For KeyShot 2026.2:
First, downgrade to the driver 25.12.1
Then upgrade to the new version
To use the GPU Mode on MacOS, an M3 (16GB RAM) chip and MacOS Sequoia 15 are required.
