End of Life (EOL) Details for KeyShot Studio 8 and 9
KeyShot Studio, formerly known as KeyShot, versions 8 and 9, will reach the end of life on January 1, 2025, at which point product downloads will be removed, license servers will be unavailable, and technical assistance will no longer be provided.
What does end of support mean?
As a part of our product lifecycle, we may decide to end support for certain product releases that we have determined it is no longer practical for us to support. We make this decision due to many reasons, including security concerns, legal and compliance risks, compatibility issues with newer hardware or software, performance degradation, and reliability issues, among others.
If you have a node-locked license, we will be able to reactivate your license until the official end-of-life date. If you have a current maintenance plan, we will provide support until the end-of-life date.
KeyShot Studio 8 and 9 will remain supported until March 31, 2024.
What does unsupported mean?
Customers with unsupported products are not entitled to download or receive updates, maintenance releases, patches (including critical security patches), hotfixes, or any other technical support services. Access to unsupported versions and plugins is at your own risk and KeyShot (formally Luxion) is not responsible for any technical support (including problems you create) as a result of accessing these resources. To resolve an issue, it may be necessary to upgrade to a newer version or product solution.
When a product moves to unsupported status, customers with current subscriptions or maintenance plans will continue to have access to KeyShot’s technical support team, and we will continue to reactivate node-locked licenses for all customers.
KeyShot Studio 8 and 9 will remain available as an unsupported product until December 31, 2024.
What does end of life mean?
As of January 1, 2025, KeyShot Studio 8 and 9 will reach the end of life.
This means that computers running KeyShot Studio 8 and 9 will still function, but KeyShot will no longer provide technical support for any issue. License servers will be unavailable, which means your license will not be able to be reactivated, and all product downloads will be removed from the KeyShot website.
While you could continue to run KeyShot Studio 8 and 9, we recommend upgrading to a version of KeyShot Studio that is still supported. You can find currently supported versions of KeyShot Studio here.
Are there older versions of KeyShot Studio that have reached the end of life?
Yes. As of April 30, 2023, computers running KeyShot Studio versions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 will still function, but KeyShot will no longer provide technical support for any issue. License servers will be unavailable, which means your license will not be able to be reactivated.
While you could continue to run these older versions, we recommend upgrading to a version of KeyShot Studio that is still supported. You can find currently supported versions of KeyShot Studio here.
If I’m using one of these versions, will KeyShot Studio stop working?
No. Support is discontinued, but the software will continue to function. However, after January 1, 2025, you will no longer be able to:
- Reactivate your license should you need to
- Download the product or plugins from the KeyShot website
- Access the manual from the KeyShot website
- Receive technical support for any issues
