Error: "Activation code has already been used" when activating a Subscription key

When activating a subscription key in KeyShot a message saying the activation code has already been used.

Issue

When trying to activate KeyShot with a subscription license key, the following error occurs even though the key is not used anywhere else.

Activation code has already been used. Please check if the license has already been activated by another user in your organization.

Cause

  • The license has already been activated and tied to a KeyShot Cloud Account. Once it is activated, you do not need to enter the serial code again to activate KeyShot. You only need to sign into your KeyShot Cloud Account and select the correct license
  • Your license is registered to a different email address and you are signing into the wrong KeyShot Cloud Account.

Resolution

If the license has already been activated, you do not need to activate it again with a serial code. Instead, you only need to log into your KeyShot Cloud account and select the correct license.

See the instructions below:

1. Select 'Activate my license'.

2. Select 'I have a subscription'.
3. Sign in to your KeyShot Cloud account.
4. You should see a screen like this:
5. At this point, simply select 'Next' and then 'Finish' (Do not select 'Activate new license').
