Error Code 7; Error message: License server system does not support this version of this feature. FlexNet Licensing error: -25, 147

Issue

When specifying a Floating License for KeyShot or Network Rendering, you might encounter an error like

Unknown Error, Error Code 7; Error message: License server system does not support this version of this feature.
Feature: keyshot_network_rendering
License path: 27000@hostname;
FlexNet Licensing error: -25, 147

Cause

This error most likely results from you using a newer KeyShot version than your current license file is valid for
- In your *.lic-file, you will find entries like
  FEATURE keyshot2 LUXION 12.0 permanent 6 BORROW=720 DUP_GROUP=UHD SIGN="0"
  FEATURE keyshot_vr LUXION 12.0 permanent 1 BORROW=720 DUP_GROUP=UHD SIGN="0"
- In this case 12.0 is version 12 which equates to KeyShot 2023, KeyShot 2024 would be 2024 or 2024.0
- If your license is valid for version 12, you will get this error when trying pull a seat or cores with KeyShot or Network Rendering 2024

Resolution

If you have active maintenance or you had active maintenance at the time that a new version released, please request a new Floating License file.
If you do not have active maintenance, please download and use the KeyShot/Network Rendering version that your license is valid for.
