GPU Mode Not Updating Real-Time Display in KeyShot
Troubleshooting steps when GPU mode fails to render or update the viewport

Issue
When enabling GPU mode in KeyShot, the real-time display does not update and appears frozen. The object’s orange outline moves independently when zooming or toggling, but the rendered view does not refresh. CPU mode may still work but performs poorly on heavy scenes.
Cause
This issue occurs when KeyShot is not set to use the dedicated NVIDIA GPU as the High Performance graphics processor in Windows Graphics Settings.
Resolution
Follow the steps below to set KeyShot to High Performance mode in Windows:

Open Windows Graphics Settings

Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.

Go to System > Display.

Scroll down and click Graphics.

Locate KeyShot Executable

Click Browse (or Add desktop app) and select the correct installation path:

Installed for current user only:
%localappdata%\KeyShot\bin\keyshot.exe

Installed for all users:
C:\Program Files\KeyShot\bin\keyshot.exe

Note: KeyShot 2023 uses a folder named
KeyShot12\bin\keyshot.exe
.
KeyShot 2024 and later versions useKeyShot Studio\bin\keyshot.exe

Set to High Performance

Select KeyShot.exe from the list.

Click Options.

Under Graphics preference, select High Performance.

Click Save.

Restart KeyShot
-
Close KeyShot completely.

Reopen KeyShot and try GPU mode again.

Additional Information
If GPU mode is still not working after applying these settings, confirm that your NVIDIA drivers are fully up to date from the NVIDIA Driver Downloads page.
