Experiencing Poor Performance in KeyShot

This article provides instructions on how to set the default GPU for an app on Windows if you are experiencing delays, slowdowns, and performance issues while using certain KeyShot products 

Issue

When trying to use certain KeyShot products there will be times were you may experience delays or slowdowns and performance issues.

Environment Details

  • KeyShot  | KeyVR | KeyShot Viewer
    • Any versions
  • GPU Card

Resolution

Set preferred GPU setting on Windows:

  1. Press the Windows + I shortcut to open the Settings app and click on Display.
  2. Under display settings, scroll down and click Graphics.
  3. Click on the Browse button and use the chart below called "Options for KeyShot Products" to select the appropriate application.
  4. Click on the Options button and select "High Performance" from the Graphics specifications drop-down menu.
  5. Click on the Save button to apply the changes.
  6. Restart KeyShot or Web Browser.

  1. The ## is the KeyShot version.
  2. These are only for Windows settings.
