Avoid Using Affected Drivers and Use Version 561.09 Until the Issue is Resolved
Avoid Using Nvidia Drivers 565.09, 566.03, and 566.14 with KeyShot
We are aware of a memory leak issue affecting KeyShot when using Nvidia driver versions 565.09, 566.03, and 566.14. These drivers, among other issues, are causing the VRAM to fill up over time, eventually leading to slower performance as the GPU attempts to use shared memory once the dedicated GPU memory is full.
Issue Details:
- Memory Leak: The drivers listed above have a bug causing VRAM to continuously fill up during rendering. Once the dedicated GPU memory is full, the GPU attempts to use shared memory, which is significantly slower and can lead to poor performance.
- Affected Driver Versions:
- 565.09
- 566.03
- 566.14
Recommended Solution:
Until this bug is fixed, it is strongly recommended that you avoid using these driver versions when working with KeyShot.
Safe Driver Version:
- The Nvidia 561.09 driver version is known to be stable and free from this memory leak issue. We recommend using 561.09 until a fix is available.
Expected Fix:
This issue is a known bug in Nvidia drivers and is scheduled to be resolved in the upcoming r570 drivers, expected to be released in January 2025.
Impact on Performance:
If you're using one of the affected driver versions, you may notice significant slowdowns in performance as VRAM usage increases. This will eventually lead to the use of slower shared memory, which can negatively affect your rendering speed and overall experience in KeyShot.
