Network Rendering: Workers stay paused after upgrading to 2025.2

After upgrading the Network Rendering Configurator to 2025.2, the Workers no longer connect because they are paused

Issue

After upgrading to Network Rendering 2025.2, the Workers no longer connect and show as paused and cannot be resumed from a paused state.

Environment Details

  • Network Rendering
    • 2025.2

Resolution

There is a known issue which we have been investigating where after updating Network Rendering, the Workers become paused and no longer connect to the Manager. It appears you may be experiencing this issue. In order to resolve this issue, we recommend rebooting the Workers.

If that does not work you can also make sure the Workers are not paused by following the below instructions:

In the NR Resources, there is a settings.ini

Windows:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\KeyShot Network Resources

MacOS:
/Library/Application Support/KeyShotNetworkResources/

It has entries for pauses, which need to be edited to be false and then saving the ini.

workerPaused=false
gpuWorkerPaused=false

  1. Stop the Worker from the Configurator

  2. Open settings.ini

  3. Modify the workerPaused flag (and gpuWorkerPaused) to false

  4. Save the file

  5. Re-start Worker

If this does not resolve the issue, please submit a ticket in the Support Portal.
