ZBrush Bridge Not Working with KeyShot After Update

Issue

After installing the latest version of ZBrush, the ZBrush–KeyShot Bridge no longer works. 

Environment

• Product: KeyShot (versions 10)

• Platform: Windows/macOS

Cause

• ZBrush updates may have broken compatibility with KeyShot 10.

• KeyShot 10 has not been updated since July 2021 and will reach end of life on January 1, 2026.

• Starting with KeyShot Studio (2023 and newer), the application became versionless, and plugins were updated to recognize “KeyShot Studio” instead of just “KeyShot.”

Resolution

1. Contact Maxon Support

   • Since the Bridge is developed by Maxon, any fixes or updates must come from them. Please reach out to Maxon’s support team regarding compatibility with the latest ZBrush release.

2. Test with a newer version of KeyShot

   • You can try the latest KeyShot 2025  to verify if the Bridge works as expected.

3. Use Export/Import as a workaround

   • If the plugin includes an Export function, try exporting the scene from ZBrush as a .bip file and then import it into KeyShot instead of using live linking
