This article deals with an error that might occur claiming that the current license does not allow for external rendering (Background Rendering and Queue)
Issue
When trying to render in the Background or Queue, an error pops up
The current license does not allow for external rendering
Environment Details
- KeyShot Floating
- Version 11 and prior
Cause
- Rendering in the Background opens a second instance of KeyShot and might result in a incomplete access to the KSSettings.xml
- Hash data error Defect ID KEYS-26881
- Fixed in KeyShot 2023.1
Resolution
- Try clicking OK and try rendering it in the background as well
- Try to connect to the server with @ in the server location, so "@hostname" instead of "hostname"
- Please make sure the Resource Folder is installed on a local drive
- not on network or shared drive
- if the Resource Folder is being synchronized, e.g. OneDrive, please make sure to always keep a local copy
